Johannes Rauh

I am working as a post doc at Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences in Leipzig and as a statistician at the Federal Institute for Quality and Transparency in Healthcare in Berlin.

In 2015, I did a postdoch with Hélène Massam at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at York University (Toronto), and before that, I was a postdoc at the Institute of Algebraic Geometry at the Leibniz University of Hannover.

I am interested in problems from and statistics, information theory and machine learning that I treat with algebraic and geometric methods. Among other things, I am working on:

  • Logistic regression; uncertainty quantification for SMRs
  • Markov bases
  • Conditional Independence models
  • Decomposing the mutual information into redundancy, unique information and synergy
  • Complex networks and random graphs

See my research page for more information.
